Here we go - here we go!

Here goes with my very first attempt at blogging - hope you'll bear with me as I make lots of mistakes?

The aim of these blogs is to promote the Great Milk (stout) Ride and encourage readers to visit our website at www.gmsr.co.uk and register on line for one of the two Rides we have been organising every September since 1993, when a group of "boozers" decided to raise money for charity. The result was 29 riders were able to hand over £1350 to Macmillan Cancer Support, in memory of a dominoe playing mate, John Woodhouse, who had died earlier that year and whose family were supported by Macmillan.

Since that date the event has gone from strength to strength and as of last year (2007) we have donated in total over £320,000 to Macmillan.
